Invasive Species

In common with other Norfolk and Suffolk catchments, the Waveney has a number of invasive and non-native species.

In recent years the Trust has been part of efforts to eradicate mink. This American import predates on water vole and caused a devastating reduction in this valued native species. The Trust has also been involved in projects to remove Floating Pennywort and Himalayan Balsam.
